Walls
Paint the walls in the room a light cream colour. Around the room, position wall sconces with plain cream candles to add a touch of romance to the design.
Curtains
Hang light color or creamy color long curtain. Hold the curtains back with white tie backs
Light boxes
Make two light boxes from reclaimed glass and 2x2 timber posts. Rebate the timber corners so that the four pieces of glass can be slotted in between the framework. Add a lamp holder to house the bulb and frost the glass fronts using a frosting spray.
Stools
In a similar design to the light boxes, make a footstool out of MDF. Add a cushion pad covered with co-ordinating fabric.

Paint
Choose Straw Boater yellow and Orchard Green shades for the walls. Create tone on tone effects using Ivory Cream and Zingy Yellow colours.
Window dressing
Drape voile across the window for privacy, and hang contrasting coloured muslin tab top curtains.
Dining table and chairs
Brighten up old wooden furniture by sanding, priming and painting it a matching ivory colour.
Lighting
Install a chrome spotlight and flexible spots to illuminate various areas of the room. Place battery lights underneath the shelf above the computer workstation.

The look
Paint the walls a light heather colour. To create reflective detail, mask off a border round the centre of the walls and then mix gloss varnish with a little white emulsion and paint onto the walls, leave to dry and then remove the tape.
Cushions
Make cushions for the sofa from linen and organza fabrics to complement the natural look.
Curtains
Customise ready made curtains with linen fabric stitched onto them, then add detail onto the linen, such as shell designs using white puffa paints.
Column lights
To make a column lamp base from a soil pipe, cut to the appropriate length and wrap it in a chosen fabric. Cut out a MDF circular base and top and fix to the soil pipe. Add baton holders to hold the bulb and shade.
