Table lamp
Use a goldfish bowl as the base of the lamp. Cut a circle of MDF to the size of the hole in the bowl. Cut a smaller circle from the centre of the wood to hold a bottle lamp adapter. Fit this into place and add a circular pleated shade to cover the bulb.
Footstool
Lay a bookcase on its back and reinforce the bottom with a sheet of MDF. Add coasters to each corner to make it moveable. Make a lid from MDF and attach hinges. Add foam and material to the top for a padded surface.
Computer workstation
Add tracking runners to the underside of a simple, cheap TV cabinet. Make a shelf from MDF, to use as a moveable surface for your computer.
